Hello, my name is Alice! I’m 24 years old, I was adopted by my lovely parents when I was 13 years old from China. My parents took me to church ever since they adopted me, but I was not really aware of what was going on at the time considering I did not speak any English (Except the word NO). My mom was a music teacher so she homeschooled me and my little sister, who they also adopted from Ethiopia. I’m grateful for my family and all that they’ve done to help me, and support me in my growth in Christ.

I gradually adjusted to my new environment and started to find my own faith. In 2019 I went on my 4th short term mission trip, this time to work in an orphanage in Guatemala. Working with these beautiful kids and showing them the love of Christ really changed me because I grew up in an orphanage and it reminded me of the passage in Ephesians that says “God decided in advance to adopt us all into His own family” (Ephesians 1:5-10). I realized that orphans and those who are hurting are so close to God‘s heart. It was after that trip that I had such a desire to serve as a missionary in orphan ministry and other ministries that reach those who feel forgotten and overlooked. Because of my childhood, I struggled as a teenager with the feelings of abandonment. One Sunday morning in worship, God gave me the revelation that He had taken me from “abandoned“ to “abiding” and that I wI’ll never be alone when I am with Him. I want to share this revelation with others all over the world who struggle with the same thoughts.

I moved into my first apartment when I was 20 years old, I have three roomates who are my best friends! I’m beyond blessed with the friendships I have with them. They have helped me to grow in my walk with Christ and I love building the kingdom with them.

I love sushi, and most other foods. I love going on hikes, cliff jumping, and stargazing. God always has a way of revealing Himself to me through His creation, and I’m so blessed to be able to see and take in His presence on this trip.
